Where can I get my Picnic tickets?

Tickets are available online, at the Gallo Center Box Office or pick them up while you're out and about from our ticket outlets.

What else do I need to know?
  • Smoking is prohibited on the lawn area. Please see the info table for designated smoking area on the grounds.

  • When traveling between the general parking lot and the lawn area please remain on the walking path at all times. The adjacent cart path must remain clear at all times for event security and staff.

What should I leave at home?

These items are prohibited:

  • Alcohol. Your bags and personal items will be searched for alcohol before entering the grounds and confiscated. Wine and an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase once inside the venue, with all sales benefiting Modesto Symphony Orchestra.

  • Video and audio recording equipment

  • Grills or other cooking devices

  • Pets

  • Fireworks

What should I pack?

Blankets

Low-sand chairs (seats lower than 9”, and backs must be lower than 32” from the ground)
If you require a taller lawn chair, please find a seating area that won’t obstruct the view of others behind you. Please see an usher if you have any questions while setting up.

Cooler (for food and non-alcoholic drinks)

Bring a picnic dinner
—as simple or elaborate as you’d like!

Sunscreen & Sun-protection

Golden rule: be considerate of others. We want everyone to enjoy the concert and experience.

What are my food options?

You are welcome to pack a picnic and eat on the premises – please remember: no outside alcohol and no grills.

Pre-order meals from O’Brien’s Market!

We have an authorized caterer to pre-order catered meals for the evening. Pre-ordered meals will be available for easy pick-up after the grounds open at 4:00 pm. Food orders can be placed beginning Thursday, August 1st thru Thursday, September 5th.

Food Trucks & Vendors

We will also have food trucks and vendors on-site during the concert. Full details will be available soon!

How does parking work?

General Parking Information

General parking entrances are located at:

Entry 1 - Yosemite Blvd. & Santa Rosa Ave

Entry 2 - Yosemite Blvd. & Santa Rita Ave.

Entry 3 - Yosemite Blvd. & Santa Cruz Ave.

  • Disabled Person Parking (with a state issued placard/plate) is located at Yosemite Blvd. & Morton Drive. Then left onto Grand Street and follow the signs.

  • Parking attendants will direct you to the closest parking lot.

  • Plan on taking a free event shuttle or walking up to 3/4 mile from the parking lot to the concert site.

For Premier Parking: please refer to the back of the Premier parking pass for directions.

Can I take an Uber or Lyft to the concert?

Yes! We encourage you to use a RideApp service (like Uber or Lyft), especially if you plan to enjoy our wine offerings at Picnic. We have a designated drop-off and pick-up space for RideApp services only, located in the roundabout in front of the Dry Creek Building.

Use address 154 S Santa Rosa Ave., take Entry 1, and follow the signs to the right for RideApps drop-off and pick-up.

For added convenience for those coming from out of the area, Take the Amtrak San Joaquins into the Modesto train station and catch a short Uber/Lyft to the event. Be sure to check for discounts, including senior, student, disabled, and military discounts. When and where are MSYC rehearsals held?

Rehearsals are held at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 324 College Ave in Modesto. The Choristers rehearse on Mondays from 4:30-5:30pm and the Chorale rehearses on Mondays from 6:00-7:30pm. For more detailed information, please see the season calendar.

Do I need to be enrolled in a school music program?

MSYC programs are designed to complement members’ personal music development – not be a substitute for other means of instruction. The MSYC strongly suggests that all members contribute their talents to their appropriate school program, where available. This supports our school music curriculum and helps to provide strong leadership and musical role models in the school environment. We believe in the value of music education in collaboration with our community.
