PATRICK REYNOLDS, conductor

Patrick Reynolds, conductorPatrick Reynolds is Assistant Conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He has appeared as guest conductor of the Annapolis (MD) Symphony Orchestra, the Arlington (VA) Symphony Orchestra, the High Mountain (NJ) Symphony Orchestra, the Queens (NY) Symphony Orchestra, and with the Starling Project at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. 

Reynolds conducts nearly two-dozen performances with the Dayton Philharmonic each season, leading the orchestra in its Magic Carpet, SPARK (School Partners with Artists Reaching Kids) and Young Peoples concerts, reaching thousands of students across the Dayton metropolitan area.  He has also conducted the Philharmonic in Classical, SuperPops, Holiday Pops, and summer series concerts.

Under his direction the one hundred member Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra performs four concerts each season and has been invited to perform at the 2002, 2004 and 2006 Ohio Music Educators Association conferences. The DPYO regularly appears on the DPO’s Time-Warner Cable Family Concert Series, a highlight of which is the “Side-by-Side” concert featuring both the Dayton Philharmonic and Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Also part of the Family Series, the DPYO’s annual KinderConcert has recently featured collaborations with the Dayton Ballet II Senior Company, performance artist Dan Kamin, and the Magic Circle Mime Company.

Reynolds is in his tenth year on the faculty at the University of Dayton where he is an Associate Professor of Music. He earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Michigan School of Music.
