In the News
"Leon Fleisher, a prodigiously gifted pianist who focused on repertoire for the left hand after focal dystonia disabled his right hand in the 1960s, was one of five artists recgonized at the 30th annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony on December 2. Renowned for his intellectually powerful, graceful, warm interpretations of Brahms, Mozart, and Beethoven, Fleisher has also enjoyed a significient career as a conductor and educator; he recovered the full use of his right hand in 2004 after receiving Botox treatments, an event that made national news and resulted in the 2006 Oscar-nominated documentary Two Hands. The Kennedy Center Honors gala will be telecast by CBS on December 26 at 9 p.m. (ET). Also honored are Steve Martin, Diana Ross, Martin Scorsese, and Brian Wilson." - Symphony Magazine
