ABOUT THE MSO GUILD

Formed in 1953, the Modesto Symphony Guild is a non-profit organization whose express purpose is to support and promote the growth of the Modesto Symphony Orchestra Association through fundraising and volunteer efforts.  The Modesto Symphony Guild is proud to be nearing a total contribution mark of $1 million to the Modesto Symphony since its inception.  For more information or to join, please call our Membership Chair at (209) 549-7563.  Guild services include:

Education and Outreach

  • Music Scholarship Award Program
  • Classroom docent program
  • Musicians’ refreshments

Administrative Support

  • Assist MSOA staff in the office with various duties including mailing campaigns, answering telephones and general office work.
     

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

The Modesto Symphony Guild Music Scholarship is awarded each spring to graduating high school seniors that continue their music education.  Applications will be available online in January 2012 and the selections will be made by May 1, 2012.

Scholarship Awards:

  • 1st Prize - $2,500

     

FUND RAISING EVENTS

Fall Fundraiser:  The premiere social event of the season, the Guild presents its annual Fundraiser in the autumn which includes dinner and entertainment.

Breakfast with Santa:  A community tradition, the annual Breakfast with Santa sees some 200 children enjoy breakfast and having their picture taken with Santa Claus while being entertained by The  Dance Factory, the Choralettes and the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra.  All proceeds raised go to the Modesto Symphony Guild Music Scholarship Fund.
